We do get more exploration into who Marcus Finch is and of course, the hidden witchy enemy that she must battle to survive.  We really get to delve further into the Alchemists group in this book. What the Golden Lily tattoos really represent/contain.

There is always a constant that you will find with these books. There is very little down time. There is always more than one plot line happening and each book has a build up to a really intense moment and a surprise ending to lead into the next book. Plus a little romance mixed in and witty, humorous dialogue.
